Music Fun Week of April 30

UPDATES (since Tuesday) in RED
PRACTICE KINDNESS.

I’ll be away for a couple of weeks helping my brother in Philadelphia. Though I’ve got my hands on an iPad mini—I’m still unable to make it work with blogger. And Jay has no internet or wireless, and I probably won’t have time anyway.  But if I can put out a mini-calendar, I will try.
Meanwhile, if I do not produce a current calendar, you can always go to my website and click on any of the venues I list to see what’s up on their website.  Yep-- It’s a lot of work!

Hooray for The 7th Sons, and some lively rock & roll at the Presidio Yacht Club last Friday night!  There was a wedding party in attendance, a bunch of 30-somethings, and they really got off on the oldies--almost kept up with us.
Hugh Masekela at Marin Center on Saturday nite – he is phenomenal!  I was concerned about attending a seated concert, but needn’t have worried.  This 74-year old lifted the audience to our feet on several occasions, so I got to wiggle & shake—enough so that I didn’t have to go out dancing afterward.  Another role model: hope I can be as active when I reach that age!

The coughing is modified by some allergy pills, but still taking it a bit easy to gather my strength for my coming trip—which means I’m still not going out 3 or 4 or 5 nights a week!
However, for the weekend Carlos & I can’t miss the Soul Satellites at Peri’s on Friday, and hope to catch some tunes at Sunnbolt before we head to Fairfax; Matt Jaffe’s at the Hopmonk, The 7th Sons at the Cruising Club, Zepparella at Sweetwater—plenty of fun to be had.
On Saturday we hope for some Evil Fun with Cathey Cotton at 19 Broadway.  There’s also Pete Escovedo at George’s; Zydeco Flames at the Nicasio Barn Dance; Revolver at Rancho; Mari Mack at Fenix; and a whole slew of other great acts to check out below.
Sunday morning, if we didn’t plan on attending Unity, would sure head over to Sweetwater for James Moseley Trio for Sunday brunch.
Wishing good Health & Happiness for y’all!  ♫♪

Listen to the Music, and Dance (like nobody's watching)!!

Music Fun Week of April 23

UPDATES (since Tuesday) in RED
I'm not coming up with anything particularly witty to say at the moment, so best to get to the nitty-gritty ...

Still coughing – it’s been suggested that this is allergies?  I’m not one to run to the doctor, and I never cough while I’m dancing – so I guess the best remedy for me is to keep on DANCING!  LOL!
I did manage to sing beautifully for both my Marin Symphony concerts last week--for that I give THANKS!
PRIDE and JOY at George’s on Friday night knocked my socks off!  …or at least wore me out after 3 hours of attempting to copy-cat their choreography!  Back again to George’s on Saturday night for those loveable rascals Rudy Colombini and the Unauthorized Rolling Stones – who never disappoint! Very happy they will return to Marin for the Larkspur Food & Flower Fest, and for the series at Northgate!  I’ll be publishing my Summer Events calendar soon.
So sorry to have missed my friends James Moseley Band, Danny Click & the Hell Yeahs, Johnny Z & TRENZ, Jefferson Starship, et al. -- sometimes it's a toss of the dice!  ♫♪

I won a couple of tickets for the Saturday show of Hugh Masekela at Marin Center, so Carlos & I will start our evening there.  Hope to shake a leg after that, but not yet sure where … and don't have Friday night pinned down either.  HAVE TO GET ALL BETTER before my heavy-duty trip to Philadelphia to help brother Jay. J

Blessings as you begin your personal journey again each day.  ♪♫♪

Listen to the Music, and Dance (like nobody's watching)!!
And remember to TIP our wonderful and talented MUSICIANS!  Also please support all the gracious venues that support MUSIC.
