Tonight (Tuesday) another opportunity to hear the Marin Symphony’s program From Russia With Love – and although Laura and I attended on Sunday afternoon – I am going back for more, this time with Carlos. Featured is Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Jon Nakamatsu performing Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto—passionate, glorious! Pre-concert talk with Maestro Neale and Guest Artist Nakamatsu begins at 6:30, and is free to all ticket-holders. Tickets still available—just show up and treat yourself! For the price of a few movie tickets, you can hear a Live Symphony performance—nothing like it!
We had our first Halloween weekend for the year, and looks like we’ll get yet
another. I got over to the Marin Senior
Fair last Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed several dances to the tunes of the Starduster Orchestra, with vocalist Noah Griffin.
On Friday, major fun for Carlos & me at the
Fenix, with the James Moseley Dance Band! Thank you—James, Carrie, Haley, Jack, Jean, Marina, and Doug, and all the
costumed crazies!
Saturday found me with daughter Laura at the Marin Symphony Gala, held this year at the Marin Art & Garden
Center—a fanciful 007 James Bond-themed fundraising event, with much finery to
behold.
And on Sunday we went to the actual concert –
and I’m going back for more tonight (Tuesday) with Carlos!
