FRIENDSHIP – cherish it …
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Gong Hey Fat Choy!
**
Is it possible to have
a week that’s not crazy busy? Probably
not—and you’re likely in the same awesome boat.
Think about the alternative!
I’m back in rehearsals
every Monday evening with the Marin
Symphony Chorus to prepare for our upcoming April concerts with the
Orchestra, performing Brahms German Requiem. Keeps me in
that wonderful world!
Tuesday found Carlos
& I at Panama Hotel for a lovely
dinner with friends, and the music of Swing
Fever.
On Wednesday we couldn’t
miss Danny O’Grady doing his boogie-woogie
thing as the Eldon Brown Band at Iron Springs in Fairfax, and after that
showed up at the addictive Dennis Haneda’s
Open Mic at Hopmonk.
Loved that we could
stay local Thursday! First at TREK Winery
for some jazz with the Herb Marshall Group,
and then back to the Hopmonk Novato
to finish the evening with Denny Mederos’
Pro Jam with The Blues Defenders.
Unbelievable talent: guests Daniel
Castro, Levi Lloyd and more blues pros who are off the charts.
Hopmonk Novato on Friday as well, for The
Pulsators and Gator Beat, for a Mardi Gras party that rocked the walls. Fun
to have lots of the zydeco crowd here—packed to the rafters with smiles &
good vibes!
On Sunday we actually
crossed the Golden Gate Bridge for Steve
Sodokoff’s awesome Gimme Shelter
benefit event at 1015 Folsom. Here again
is a video that was buried in last week’s post:
Lady Gaga with the Rolling Stones
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWvVzxvkioQ&feature=youtu.be
What’s up for Ellen
and Carlos this week? Can’t miss the Ray Simpson Big Band Dance in Corte
Madera on Wednesday; and we’ll probably want to check in with Hopmonk Open Mic on our way home …
On Thursday we have a local
crab feed—my first ever! Then comes Friday, with too many great choices: Pride & Joy at George’s, free DJ night at Hopmonk, Terri Odabi & David Sturdevant at Fenix, David Nelson Band in Mill Valley … and the list goes on. Saturday looks like more fun at the Hopmonk with Lost Dog Found & Key
Lime Pie; also Danny Click at Rancho, Tony Lindsay at George’s,
Rudy Colombini & the Unauthorized
Rolling Stones at Silo’s …
scroll down and see the whole list! Who
says there’s nothin’ to do?

musical delights below J ♫♪♫♪
