LOVE Surrounds You! Open your heart and let it in …
On Wednesday we arrived at Hopmonk Open Mic in time for a little Oranguhtango—the featured act—way high energy; plus stayed for some
Marin School of the Arts & Novato High kids, including Milo, who plays
guitar with Andre Thierry!
Thursday the 4th found us at Presidio Yacht Club for Cathey Cotton & her extraordinary
compilation of fun and musical madness: Cathey, Elliott Shannonhouse, Jean-Paul
McLean, Radical Ron Ransford, drummer
Steve Guerrero, Rich Armstrong trumpet & Ray Clement sax of Wall
Street, and Spike Sykes sax.
Special guests were Tony Saunders
& exotic dancer Jetara. Amazing.
And of course some fireworks around the bend.
Friday was another Magical night at Northgate, where Rudy Colombini and the Unauthorized Rolling Stones whipped the huge
crowd into a frenzy. Not dancing on the
tables, but frenzied nevertheless! From
there to a mighty fine bluesy funky hour or more at Sunnbolt Jam, then a stop at Hopmonk
to hear AgapeSoul --a great
funk/soul group (with kind of a James
Moseley vibe …)
Saturday was our day for Marin County Fair, and the weather cooperated by being in the 70’s,
instead of 90’s! We hung with the
animals for a while—goats, pigs, horses, llamas, bunnies, chickens; watched
some cloggers (I want a clogging class in Marin!!) and young hip-hoppers, rode
the ferris wheel, and hung in the smoky “mosh pit” for The Wailers.
Sunday, after some inspiration at Unity in Marin, headed to Hopmonk for Lumanation in the Beer Garden.
Groovin’ in the heat. J ♫♪♫♪
Coming up?
My
first trip to Hawaii – in one week!! I know Carlos and I will have a fantastical
journey! We’re there to help Sue P.
celebrate a Big Birthday. And it means I will most likely not be posting anything for possibly a
couple of weeks.
Our immediate plans: Wednesday’s Big Band Dance, Thursday ?, Friday Roy Rogers & Delta Rhythm Kings at Hopmonk sounds like a draw, and The 7th Sons are at PYC ...
Saturday there's a party, and then a tough call between 2 of my faves: James Moseley at Seahorse and The Tickets Band at Presidio Yacht Club—as
well as Volker Strifler at the Hopmonk, and Hot Buttered Rum at the JCC. Hmmmm…
Sunday there’s Linda Imperial at Magnolia
Terrace, Lonestar Retrobates at PYC—oh my goodness, take a look at the
offerings!
Listen to the Music,
and Dance (like nobody's watching)!! ♫
And remember to TIP
our wonderful and talented MUSICIANS!
Also please support all the gracious venues that support MUSIC.
