The HEAT is on! So Keep Your Cool …
While I kvetch about the Cold Weather when it’s here … the Heat is now
biting me in the derriere. I am quite
fine within a range of 68-82 – so this is overkill, thank you very much. Thinking – icy – blue – cooling – thoughts.
But of course, the music beckons! Advice for myself: stay
out of the direct sun, stay hydrated, TRY to sit some of the time.

The week past was extraordinarily fun, and
extraordinarily hot! The James Moseley Band at Sweetwater mid-week; Doc Kraft Band making merry at the Seahorse
on Friday.
On Saturday we showed up at Alma Via for Andre Thierry and Zydeco Magic, for an
outdoor performance in the 100 degree weather.
None of the zydeco dancers showed up (too sensible?) so yours truly had
to get up and dance. Pretty much
cooked. After conking out for a spell, we
insisted on an appearance at Trek Winery for Captain Paisley, for their last Iron Butterfly number, then to Hopmonk for Shana Morrison’s last song – and that’s how it went!
And on Sunday I could not imagine being on the
pavement for the Italian Street Painting
Festival, so we headed to Magnolia
Terrace at the Elks Club for The 7th
Sons. Hot, but manageable with the cool lawn and fountain providing at
least an illusion of cool--and some upbeat rock & roll. When they
finished we wandered down to the Festival for Moonalice’s last bit.
Kudos to all the artists—musical and visual—who
keep on keepin’ on under sometimes less than ideal conditions, for our
enjoyment!! J ♫♪♫♪
What’s coming up?
Fourth
of July! And way too
much groovy music from which to choose …
Will it be Zydeco
Flames at Rancho? Or magical Cathey Cotten and her way-talented
bunch at the Presidio Yacht Club?
On Friday I would not miss The Unauthorized Rolling Stones at Northgate Mall! And then to Hopmonk for some AgapeSoul—or Sunnbolt
Jam—or maybe a surprise. Saturday?? It’s still too hot to think ahead
that far -- and when will we get to the Fair? All shall be revealed ... [Looks like we'll head to Marin Co. Fair on Saturday!]
Listen to the Music,
and Dance (like nobody's watching)!! ♫
And remember to TIP
our wonderful and talented MUSICIANS!
Also please support all the gracious venues that support MUSIC.
