Music Fun Week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1, 2014

Home again, home again, jiggity-jig.
"Summer" has come to its conclusion.  The Autumn Equinox has arrived.  And I've returned from the East Coast, and very happy to be home -- but part of me still off in the ozone in one way or another.

Atlantic Ocean, Steel Pier

Linda, Ellen, Jane on the Boardwalk, Atlantic City

Jay & Ellen, Night on the Town

My high school reunion in Atlantic City was awesome and energizing!  Caring for my brother Jay not so much.  A very difficult and challenging situation, and not sure if I made the most of my time with him ... self-doubt nipping at my heels.
Came home to some difficulties with my home, so have had a few days of workmen in and out.
Looking to turn the disappointment into the Light ...

Thus I've been unable to focus on my Music Calendar.  Hope to be back at it next week?

Some very important Birthdays coming up!  Like Carlos's on Sept. 30 (along with his Birthday Buddy Connie M.); special friend Trish on Sept. 29 ...
Sorry to miss so many birthday shoutouts while away -- for Jonathan K and Peter R; Cathy M-S, Jonny D, Margaret M, Jack P, Randy B, Jahci, Marty E, Michael S, Daniel P, Julia S, Jimmy P, John M, Michael P, Dava, Scott W, Peter V, Joe T …
And coming up on Friday the 26th Rich A, Sat. Valerie K, Sunday Eddie N, Ned P and Sylvia V; Monday for Trish W, Tuesday Carlos, Connie M, and Dennis R, and on Wednesday Elke R and Alicia C!  BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS, ALL!

Luckily I sprang back into action the night after I arrived home, and was able to partake of Pacheco Plaza’s last summer offering on Friday: the GTS Band, doing Motown, soul and funk righteously, for a huge crowd in the Plaza.  Way to go, Megan, for booking another successful season!
From there Carlos & I stopped at Hopmonk for Wonderbread 5 – they too packed it in.  My jet lag caught up to me and I could not stay until the end!
Saturday night still tired, but out to Trek Winery for the fun Chime Travelers.
Sunday made it to Unity, but no dancing.
Last night Hopmonk for Open Mic hosted by Dennis Haneda, along with Ruthie.  Haven’t been in awhile, and it was good to sample several styles of music in this comfortable and friendly atmosphere.  Sure is good to be home!

For now, all I can list is what springs to mind; perhaps I will get more together by Saturday, so check back with www.ellenjanesmusic.com before or during the weekend.

What I know, and where I'll be:  the JAMES MOSELEY DANCE BAND is at Hopmonk Novato, this Saturday night!  Be there!!  Unfortunately for me (well, happy to have this spectacular event!), I already have the Marin Symphony Gala to attend with daughter Laura Mae, something we've done together for the past 6 years or so.  But as soon as I'm able to leave, by 9:30 or so, I'll show up to BOOGIE OOGIE OOGIE with James and crew.

On Friday night (tomorrow) there's The 7th Sons at Presidio Yacht Club; as well as Petty Theft at Sweetwater (may sell out).

Thursday (tonight) at Presidio YC Maria has a new band Koolwhip (rock, pop, funk); at Seahorse Donna D'Acuti & Friends; and at Twin Oaks there's Karaoke with Huey Dawg!

Sunday there’s the Mill Valley Block Party with Lumanation and Big Bang Beat!

More to come if, when I'm able.  If not, back at it next week.  Blessings ♫♪
