Music Fun Week of Oct. 10

UPDATES in RED
One of the highlights of my day yesterday was watching a red-breasted nuthatch on the pine tree directly in front of my living room.  This little guy is a rather uncommon sight in Marin.  Most of you probably don’t know that I was a birder and Terwilliger Nature Guide in a former life!

And I’d like to share something beautiful Lynn Asher posted today on FB:
Let's choose to let go of the past and not trip on the future. Life is NOW. Let's run and play and love one another. Let's share our blessings with one another, let's rejoice in others happiness and success and embrace and support those who are less fortunate. Today I choose to let go of any thoughts that are keeping me from being present.
Thanks for that, Lynn!

I embrace those thoughts.  But meanwhile, back at the ranch … Do you feel like your head is spinning out of control?  Like you can’t catch your breath, trying to play catch-up?  Yep, it happens to me as well.  This may be my last post for a while—well, I’ll continue to add items this week, but won’t be able to do a calendar for the next couple of weeks while Carlos & I are in Philadelphia—I won’t have computer access.  I must tend to my dear mentally disabled brother, so it’s a trip of necessity, but also one of Love and doing the right thing. With Carlos along, I know it will also be FUN for all of us.  We’ll be back before Halloween weekend … Meanwhile, I’ve posted a lot of coming shows in Mark your calendars.

I do have my rewards! It was another of those weeks chock-full of musical pleasure!  Shout-outs go to: Tommy Castro & the Painkillers at Sweetwater Tuesday night—free show, video shoot, crazy energy!  On Thursday we travelled down to the Presidio Y.C. for Eddie Neon & the Guys—Horacio, Tommy Ray, Billy … though the place wasn’t packed, they put out as if it was!
On Friday evening we stopped by TREK Winery—happy to see it’s perking right along, lots of folks delighted to be there on a gorgeous evening. I envision this as a lovely winter retreat as well … Then on to Ghiringhelli’s for Dan Brown & Full Steem!  Again, a full tilt dance show--crazy lotta energy with Dan & the gang.  And on Saturday night “Crazy” is an understatement for what went down at Peri’s, with Cathey Cotton & Elliott’s Evil Plan!  Definitely plenty of funky psychedelic soul sauce percolating, and crazy Fairfax characters to round out a wild night of dancing.  Cathey, you are one amazing woman!

My TREK WINERY shout-out:  open until 10pm on Friday & Saturdays; til 7pm Sunday, 8pm Wednesday and Thursday.  You can order food while at there from Chianti Cucina, Grazie, or Finnegans, and it will be delivered and plated for you right there at Trek. 1026 Machin Ave. Novato.  And enjoy the enchanting paintings of George Sumner gracing the walls of this beautiful venue.

MUST-PLAN-FOR-TRIP … But of course I must fit in some dancing before we leave!  Looking forward to the monthly Ray Simpson Big Band Dance on Wednesday in Corte Madera.  And a GIANT HIGHLIGHT of the week is the Friday show at George’s:  two of my very favorite bands—THE TICKETS BAND opens at 8pm for The JAMES MOSELEY BAND -- a Dance Extravaganza!!  At this point I am open to Possibility for the rest of the weekend, and holding onto the belief that one never knows what Magic awaits …

I wish you all a very happy week of musical delights--again!
