Music Fun Week of Oct. 22

Encouragedfrom the Unity Daily Word  ♫♪

“Support from others [and from one’s higher power] provides encouragement and boosts my confidence in working toward the accomplishment of my goals.”  Let’s all give it a try.

Plenty of fun this past week, thanks to:
Dennis Haneda’s Open Mic at Hopmonk on Wednesday.  Hats off to Dennis for being a wonderful host – it’s like one big family here, very supportive crowd having fun, lots of big talent—like Miracle Mule showing up, and some little ones too.
Thursday we stopped by Trek Winery for local fun with The Chime Travelers, then off to Pub Republic in PETALUMA (we crossed the county line for them!!) with Dan Brown & Full Steem.
Friday, Tavern on 4th Street – Way Far Bros with Volker Strifler guitar, Chip Roland (Zero) keys, Paulo Baldi (Cake) on drums, and Ed Ivey on just about everything elseA pleasure to be there!  Though this venue is under new ownership, and they have plans—it’s not quite ready for prime time.  Hope they can pull it together, because they’ve been offering some top notch musical talent …
Saturday with Carlos at Seahorse and The Mighty Groove.  Sweet! Funky! Dancin’! Groovin’!
Sunday at Sweetwater the film Touching Home … enjoyed sitting down for this one, from former neighbors Noah & Logan Miller, about their late dad Dan (Ed Harris bears an uncanny resemblance!)—who always held a special place in my heart.
Hope you got your dancin’ in! Sorry I just can’t do it all …

Full Moon a-risin’ at Marin Valley, with Deb & Sherry

This coming week?   Don’t know how many evenings will be out dancing this week – probably won’t match last week’s activity.

Friday night will not miss the James Moseley Dance Band Spooktacular at Fenix.  It may be the first Cathey Cotton & Elliott’s Evil Plan Halloween event I’ve missed for the last few years … And there are parties here, there, and everywhere:  Zydeco Flames at Eagles, Dedicated Maniacs at Hopmonk, Jimmy Dillon at SweetwaterPop Fiction at George’s, Donna D + 3 at Seahorse – and more.

There’s the Marin Symphony Gala –a 007 James Bond theme -- with daughter Laura on Saturday night.  Laura is pulling out all the stops (as she does every year for this event) – and is working on another fabulous creation.  Check out her progress on her blog Lilacs and Lace (aka LauraMaeDesigns.com).  Laura and I work for most of the Marin Symphony special events – a chance to play dress-up!

Hope you get out and move it! ♫♪♫♪
