One of
Life’s Lessons: When something’s
going on that you can’t change … maybe you can change your attitude about
it. Good luck with that ♫♪♪
Because
it uplifts me, here are some pretty photos of my daughter Laura Mae, in the
couture dress she made for this year’s Marin Symphony Gala. She also made the beaded belt, purse, hat, brooch, and
shoe clips. Follow her blog at LauraMaeDesigns.com (LilacsandLace).
Photos from her October blog "Gala 2013: The Reveal"
[FYI: I’ll be switching the publication date of my blog to Wednesdays …]
SWELL time with the James Moseley Band at Sweetwater
Wednesday night—WOW to James, Carrie,
Haley, Jack, Marina, Rob, John and KC! A real mid-week treat. Gotta get them to book you on a weekend and
fill the house!
Friday night Carlos & I thought we’d keep
it simple and just hang at the Hopmonk,
but what a surprise! ORGONE blew us
away. Their fans jammed every inch of
space, and they funkified it to the extreme!
On Saturday we had intended to join the crowd
at PYC for Revolver, but what began as a wine-tasting event turned into a
super Rolling Stones dance/ Birthday
party for host Karen! We stayed WAY too late to make it down the
101 to Sausalito.
Sunday late afternoon we went to the West End
Village (4th St.) celebration for the antics of Wonderbread 5, and had a tasty meal at Whipper Snapper – who’ve just celebrated their 5th Anniversary
of being in business!
Here it is Wednesday already and my presses are
still rolling. Thursday looks like a lot
of fun happening in Fairfax—both at Peri’s
for Burnsy’s Sugar Shack, and 19 Broadway with Fighting Smoky Joe and Sunfur. Also at Presidio Y.C. with Eddie Neon!
Friday our neighborhood Hopmonk has The Fall Risk
for something new to Carlos and me, and there’s Rusty Evans & Ring of Fire at the Elks Club (you must sign up for guest list if you intend to go …).
Saturday brings yet another dilemma of where to
be: Greg
Johnson & Glass Brick Blvd. at
Fenix, or Danny Click & The Hell
Yeahs! at Rancho, or Foreverland at Sweetwater. We may not know
until we go!
And on Sunday we hope to help Larry continue his birthday celebration with Moonalice at Sweetwater!
Hope you get out and move it … And if you can’t,
have fun inside your head! ♫♪♫♪
