It’s been a reflective
week, witnessing Carlos’s cat, Zack, do a rapid decline; ministering to him as
we could. Brings up many thoughts about mortality, loyalty, companionship, love,
letting go—and how our lives are enriched by our connections to other living
beings. We buried him today. RIP, Mr. Zack …
Healing energy and love to to Danny Uzilevsky and Erik Smyth, two local
musicians badly injured in a drunk-driver head-on, coming home from Cotati
early Sunday morning. Sending prayers ...
Here is the article in The
Patch: http://sanrafael.patch.com/articles/community-rallies-to-support-marin-musicians-in-car-crash-san-rafael
And here is a link for Danny
& Erik’s accident fund (apparently
neither has medical insurance): http://www.gofundme.com/12fg80. Blessings!
I still want to give a shout-out to all the wonderful
music-makers who enriched my life this past week: The Jimmy Dillon Band in the Mill Valley Plaza, Mark Karan and Friends at Sweetwater, the RaveUps at Northgate, Johnny
Z and TRENZ at Presidio, Revolver
in San Anselmo Creek Park. And a huge hug
to our friends who know how to throw an awesome impromptu dinner/pool party. We
also had a great time at Carlos’s reunion
at Roberts Park in the Oakland Hills, and later at a TREK Winery party—wait ‘til you see this place!! (I promise, it’s really going to happen …) Then too, it was disappointing to miss Zydeco Flames, Jonny Darlin’, Miles Schon,
the BluesBurners—and other musicians
I love, and bands I’ve yet to hear!
This week my intentions are many—and my toes are a-tingle in anticipation!! Will we get to PYC on
Thursday for The Four Teardrops? Or
perhaps Nourish for Jamie Clark Band?
And on Friday, hoping to get my zydeco on with Gator Beat at Pacheco, then The
Mighty Groove at PYC, or Elliott’s
Evil Plan & Cathey Cotten at
Peri’s. On Saturday there’s another Trek Winery event, followed possibly by TRENZ and Johnny Z at Seahorse, or will we make it to Café Du Nord
for Petty Theft and The Minks?? And what about the great entertainment at George’s—Notorious, and Pete Escovedo??
And there’s Eddie Neon, and The Treble
Makers, and The 7th Sons,
and Asleep at the Wheel out at
Rancho … Sunday there’s a special Benefit for the Downtown Novato Theatre at
the Hamilton Amphitheatre—headlined by The
Tickets Band—so you know it will be a great party. There’s also Mindy Canter at Sweetwater, an Evil Jam with Elliott & Cathey,
and much more …
Please take a look at all the
listings and details that follow.
