Music Fun Week of August 7

UPDATES in RED—Please scroll down for the weekend …
Another fantastic week has passed here in Paradise. Blessed be that we are free to partake of so much wonderful Music, with loving friends.  We all have our trials, and sometimes it is difficult to see the way clearly—but for many of us the Music and Dance are part of our Spirit Fulfillment.
This past week we were privileged to hear the Eldon Brown Band (Danny O’Grady & friends) at the Panama Hotel; Contino at Northgate, and Doc Kraft Dance Band with Johnny Z at Presidio Yacht Club.  On Saturday the day culminated in a super bad night of dance music—yes, it was Magic being made—both by the James Moseley Dance Band at Seahorse, and then (lucky us!) the sold-out show at Sweetwater for Rudy Colombini and the Unauthorized Rolling Stones!  Phew!  Made it to Unity this Sunday, and then stopped by Magnolia Terrace for some FireWheel, and on to Sweetwater for Matt Lax and Nearly Beloved. Small crowd (nothing like the Moonalice love fest the week before) and no dancers except for Carlos and me and Mei-Ling!  What really made me giggle was the Sweetwater outdoor café, which is VERY doggie-friendly—I only saw one table without a pooch!

♫♪ This week … it’s already Wednesday past 2am (I posted about 7:30 Tuesday for those who checked my site before I sent my email—but have since added, deleted, and jumbled it up).  This evening we’ll make our way to Mill Valley for Tom Rigney, and then some James Moseley at Bungalow 44. Look at the lineup for a Wednesday night!  Thursday’s ABBA concert at George’s will undoubtedly be a hoot! (Murial’s Wedding—got to be on my top 20 all-time great films.)  Oh, on Thursday Carlos & I will see the Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier at the deYoung. I was there with Laura about six weeks ago, and am heading back for more!
On Friday, it’s hard to resist Pacheco, kinda just around the corner—I heard SugarFoot at the Novato Art & Wine Festival and they’re definitely worth another listen. After that we may head to George’s for their free Disco DJ night! And there’s Doc Kraft, Jamie Clark, Rumors, and way more.  Saturday? I haven’t locked it down … take a look, lots to choose from.  On Sunday methinks it’ll be The Tickets Band—but will you look at the choices! Would be fun to sit in on Spark and Whisper in the evening while they record their CD at Studio 55 … Who knows where the winds will blow us!  Check it all out …

Our friends at George’s Nightclub are continuing their great promotion:  Celebrate your birthday there with a show!  Buy 5 tickets for friends, and the 6th one (for you) is a Comp! They’ll also treat you to a bottle of champagne.  Call for details and to book 415-226-0262.
