A New Year – more chances to get it right …
The weather has given
us a bright start to this New Year—2013!
I’m not into odd numbers (lol), but am happy to predict much happiness
to share this year.
I spent December 28
with my birthday girl, Laura Mae,
who turned 32! We took in the Rudolph Nureyev exhibit “A Life in
Dance” (there until Feb. 17) at the DeYoung,
and the William S. Paley Collection of Modernism, with a heavy emphasis on French
Post-Impressionism, as I noted that it closed in two days. Of course Laura had to create a new frock
for the occasion:
Please take a look at
her Year in Review post as well: http://lilacsandlace.blogspot.com/2012/12/2012-year-in-review.html She is astoundingly prolific and has created some
35 or 36 exquisite sewing and knitting projects during 2012!!
After our day in the
City, still managed to get out to rock at the Presidio with Carlos, for The
7th Sons.
On Saturday there was
nothing but groovy dance music from the James
Moseley Band at the Seahorse. Just like old times--the dance floor was
packed! Love and Gratitude to James, Jack, Carrie, Haley, Steve, Jean,
Marina and KC!
Sunday afternoon we
made our way to the Sweetwater to
catch the last bit of another free Moonalice
show. Got to hand it to the very generous Roger McNamee who makes it possible.
And on NEW YEAR’S EVE Carlos
& I were fortunate to stay very local and live it up at the Hopmonk Novato with PETTY THEFT and a very happy crowd of
revelers. Sorry to have missed some other great parties—but big YAY for local
fun!
Coming up this week, I’d
like to get down to the Panama for Donna D’s show on Thursday. On Friday—missing Zydeco Flames, but again may stick around for something closer to
home—SwingSet at Rickey’s? David Thom at Hopmonk? Oh, and Carlos & I will definitely stop by (and probably linger at) the Sunnbolt Jam.
On Saturday night, Black Market Blues at Hopmonk sounds real good; though I’ve
never heard the Rancho Allstars and hope
to someday soon. And what about The
Treble Makers at Coffee Roasters in
San Anselmo? Keep hopin’ I’ll get there, but it’s pretty rare for me to get up
& out on a Saturday morning …
Looking forward to the Harold
Jones Big Band Dance in San Geronimo on Sunday afternoon—always a treat
when they perform! We’ll see how the
week unfolds …
Blessings as you begin your personal journey again each day. ♪♫♪
